GLO CPAs, LLP Keynote Speaker Luncheon: "Pillars of Professionalism"

HOUSTON – June 1, 2007 - GLO CPAs, LLP, a large Houston-based 25 year old leading certified public accounting firm is providing more than financial services for its clients and constituents by hosting seminars and networking luncheons at The Houston Club. On Wednesday, June 20, 2007 in the Houston Club’s Texas Room, GLO will host a keynote speaker luncheon featuring the Co-Founder and CEO of the Brookwoods Group, John Sweney.

John Sweney’s presentation offers an overview of the fundamental practices and approaches that define a true professional.  His presentation will offer how important professional reputations are, how important trust is we have with others and that others have in us, as well as learning how to recognize our own  talents.

John Sweney is Co-Founder and CEO of Brookwoods Group, providing staffing services for companies, organizations and projects. For nine years at Compaq Computer Corporation, John was responsible for the company's product public relations, as well as mergers & acquisitions and internet initiatives. In prior lives, he was a public information officer for the Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County, a speechwriter to the President of IBM, and advertising and PR executive for General Electric Company, a press secretary to the Mayor of Providence, Rhode Island and an all news radio anchor.

John has been active in the business community as a board member of the Technology Entrepreneurs' Exchange (TeXchange) and as a member of the Greater Houston Partnership's "Marketing Houston" and "CEO Roundtable" steering committees. He has served as president or director of several non-profit organizations including the Brown Club of Houston, The National Caregivers' Wall, Milam House, Beyond Excellence and the Brown Alumni Association.
